Supplement labels stopped making sense.

Proprietary blends. Vague sourcing. Impressive-sounding formulas and very little evidence of what you were actually getting. A label could name an ingredient without ever telling you how much of it was in there — legal, common, and the reason two products with identical front-of-pack claims can differ by a factor of ten.

The place that bothered us most was pregnancy. It is the moment people read labels hardest and get the least help doing it: capsule shells that do not say what they are made of, retinol hidden in an ordinary multivitamin, omega-3 from liver oil. The questions are specific, and most brands answer them with a badge.

So we started there. The Nurture range runs from three months before trying to a child's fourth birthday, dosed to what the NHS actually recommends, with what to avoid stated as plainly as what to take. Every capsule is plant cellulose, never gelatin, which makes the whole range halal certified, vegan and vegetarian without anyone having to ask.

The everyday range came after, held to the same standard. We make twelve products in Lancashire and publish the test results whether they flatter us or not.
